MY FIRST DW POST

Leigh57's post has inspired me to post something of my own. I am so excited that a small group of us from LJ are back over here on DW.
DW also feels like a safe place to out myself about something: I’ve written the first draft of a novel. I oscillate between regarding this 90k word thing as a brilliant masterpiece and a steaming pile of garbage. The truth possibly lies somewhere in the middle. So far I’ve shown The Seventh City to no one but my Mom, who agreed to do some initial editing. After that I need to show it to someone else, because I’m sure the thing needs lots of rewrites and revising. But I think I have something here, and I am so happy I wrote it. I am so grateful to the LJ 24 community for realizing that writing is a good thing to do.
There was no great momement of revelation here, just a simple change to my life: I finally got a MacBook, so I had absolutely no excuse whatsoever but to write a little (between 250-500 words) Every. Single. Day.
Whatever does or does not happen, I am so happy that I did this thing. As I was telling S, Unlike Future President Oprah Winfrery I don’t believe in some grand purpose of destiny or whatever. But writing this novel was a good thing for me to do.
ANYWAY. Since we all watch TV what are you all watching? Here are some things I watched last year, in no particular order:
The Expanse. Why is no one watching this show? *sob*
The Handmaid’s Tale. OMFG
Game of Thrones
This Is Us
Killjoys
Rick and Morty
Dark
Glow
The Boat. A ridiculous post apocalyptic drama from Spain which I saw courtesy of Netflix. An explanation of the show would require a separate post.
24 Legacy. Meh
Designated Survivor (Hangs head in shame)
Madam Secretary
The Crown
Rick and Morty
Brooklyn 99
Archer
Stranger Things
Star Trek Discovery
The Orville
House of Cards. (Yes. I KNOW)
CNN news. Which isn’t a dystopian drama, but feels like it should be.
Talk to me!
